Our Story
Akhona Mining Services is a B-BBEE Level 1 company that operates in the South African mining sector. Its roots are in 2020, when a sister company owned by Akhona’s founders won a bid for a Mine Rehabilitation project for a major mining house outside of Middelburg.
Through strategic partnerships, Akhona has extended its services to include Materials Handling and Tailings Management and it has recruited highly experienced relevant industry personnel to support its ability to execute projects on time and on budget. Our operational team’s know-how is complemented by the industry accomplishments of our shareholders, who provide strategic direction, as well as being actively involved in the day-to-day running of the organisation.
Our service offering extends to technical services (turnkey facility planning and design), as well as the construction of all infrastructure associated with the tailings and/or material handling facilities that we manage and operate on behalf of our clients. Furthermore, we provide professional personnel, experienced site teams, plant and equipment.
Akhona Mining Services is registered with the Construction Industry Board (CIDB) and is a B-BBEE Level 1 contributor. (view our certificate here).

Our People
Our skilled team of engineers and operational staff are based at mining operations in Gauteng and Mpumalanga. We have the capacity to extend our operations to include the North West, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and Northern Cape provinces.

In order to uphold the high levels of efficiency and service to its clients Akhona Mining Services operates a well-maintained plant and equipment fleet that ensures it is able to offer its clients end-to-end services and solutions.
